Trinity is a massage therapist who has issues with men. Her last ex was a no good cheater. But she misses dating, and especially kissing. When she meets Chet she decides she must have him. They start dating and things heat up quickly. They are caught between wanting to prove themselves since their former relationships left them insecure, and doing the right thing, which is to wait for marriage. It proves to be more difficult than either of them anticipated.
Chet's first response to Trinity when he receives an unexpected massage embarrasses him, but he wants to see her again. Since he doesn't get any romance in real life, he's writing love stories on the side hoping to become a published author someday. So far he hasn't written a novel good enough to sell, but when he meets Trinity his muse not only returns, but his writing is stellar. Too bad it's only fiction.
"The most embarrassing thing happened to me today."
He gestured for Chet to come inside. "Come on in and tell me what happened."
"You know how sensitive I am to touch, right?"
Jimmy smirked. "Not personally, but you have mentioned it a time or two."
"Seriously. I saw her today. I saw Trinity. She gave me the most amazing massage."
"I remember her telling me she was a massage therapist. Did she examine your hands first and comment on the size of your fingers?"
He rubbed his chin and frowned at Jimmy. "No, why?"
"Never mind." Jimmy went into the kitchen. "Want a glass of water?"
"Sure." Chet waited and when Jimmy handed him the glass he downed it quickly. "Thanks. Massages always make me thirsty."
"Ah, so you had the massage today."
"Weren't you listening? I just told you I did."
"That's right. So what were you embarrassed about?"
"Well, she was rubbing me with her hot little hands..." He wiggled his brows.
Jimmy laughed. "Tell me you didn't get excited."
Chet grinned. "I'd have to be dead not to notice she was hot, man."
"I prefer blondes, but yeah, she's a pretty girl. She also loves the Lord and she's a brand new believer, so be careful with her. Okay?"
"I'm not going to do anything stupid. I barely know her."
"I just remember how you were when I was dating Sammie. I don't want you corrupting Trinity. You hear what I'm saying?"
Chet stared at Jimmy. His friend obviously didn't know about his fears related to sex and women. How could he? He'd never told anyone before. When he acted the part of a lonesome cowboy in Tombstone with Jimmy, it was easy to flirt with the ladies. But that was acting, not the real thing.
Part of him wanted to confide in Jimmy, but part of him worried that he'd get teased. It was embarrassing enough when the only one who knew the truth about his messed up experiences with dating was God. He swallowed hard. Should he tell Jimmy, or shouldn't he?
Jimmy gestured toward the couch. He swirled the ice in his glass and took another sip.
Chet sat and closed his eyes. He said a quick prayer for wisdom, and then released a cleansing breath. He'd go ahead and tell Jimmy and hope that his counselor friend would be mature about the disclosure and treat him like a client, rather than tease him like a friend.
His friend stared at him and frowned, "Something's bothering you. What is it?"
Wincing, Chet blurted out, "I'm scared to even say anything, so don't hassle me, okay?"
Jimmy leaned back and replied, "Okay. I can put on my counselor hat if you'd like."
"You can listen as a friend, but please, keep this confidential."
Propping his leg on one knee, Jimmy nodded slowly. "You have my word."
"I... um... well... I... Ugh, this is hard to say out loud. I'm so embarrassed."
Jimmy's brows shot up. "Are you trying to tell me you're a virgin?"
Chet's shoulders sagged. "I wish. No, that's not it."
"Then what is it? I won't mess with your head, I promise."
"It's... well... I'm horrible at new relationships and with follow through."
"Dude, are you saying--?"
"I'm saying I only know how to approach a woman when I'm acting in Tombstone or when I'm drunk. I have zero skills when I'm sober. I don't even know how to get a conversation started without sounding idiotic. Not unless I'm playacting my character. So there's no need to worry about me corrupting her. If anything, she'd have to make the first move."
There, he'd gotten that off his chest. Unfortunately, the way Jimmy gaped told him his friend wasn't going to be a fountain of solid Christian advice. He looked too shocked to speak.
"But I thought you were Mr. Grab-all-the-gusto-you-can? Wow. I didn't expect... this."
"I did grab the gusto, but only when I was so drunk I barely remembered it the next day."
"I thought you'd had several girlfriends since we met."
"Not really. That talk was mostly BS on my part."

Another fabulous story by Michelle Sutton. Chet and Trinity make a wonderful pair - they both have less than stellar backgrounds, so they are predisposed to be understanding with each other about their pasts. However, that doesn't mean their relationship is easy by any means. A sometimes sweet, sometimes funny, sometimes make you wanna cry story about how God can help overcome securities, the mistakes of a broken past, and the sins of the present.

I absolutely loved this book. If you like smokin' hot Christian romance, you have to give Michelle Sutton's books a try. I loved her characters in this book and the fact that they were wounded emotionally from past hurts added even more tension. Both were longing for love and trying to muddle through their own personal baggage, hoping for something magical. After the first kiss, the romantic tension kicks up a notch when they decide to wait until after saying, "I do" to do the deed. Do they make it? All I'll say is, it's torture for them. You'll have to read the book to find out.
Chet is such a sweatheart and trying to hard to live a Christian life, but Trinity is so tempting. He's really is a nice guy, but has a hard time keeping the hormones in check when around her, although I think at times, he does a better job than most men would given a similar situation. Trinity is a new babe in Christ and really wants to do the right thing, but she's very attracted to Chet and that makes it hard to keep her hands off him. If you like a clean read with lots of romantic tension, give this one a try. You won't be disappointed!
