Product Description

Gillian and Cody Yarbrough are newlyweds. Having bounced around in foster care and adopted as a kid, Cody understands Gillian's struggle with giving up her child for adoption when she was a teenager.

At twenty-six, Gillian is just now returning to college to finish her bachelor's degree and tries to make peace with decisions and mistakes made in her past. Now married, she desperately wants to start a family with her new husband, only she isn't getting pregnant as easily as she did in high school.

She holds a grudge against her ex-boyfriend because she had to forgo her athletic and academic scholarships to have their baby, a baby he doesn't know exists, while he went on with his life as planned. Their paths cross again, and Gillian is faced with choosing revenge or forgiveness.

"I have to pee," Gillian said, folding down the visor to check her face one more time in the mirror.

"I'm not stopping again or we'll be late," Cody said. "This kid doesn't give a flip about your lip gloss either. Stop stressing over how you look."

Gillian closed the visor. Cody was right. She had to chill. "I just want him to be proud to have me as his birth mom. I don't want him to be disappointed."

"You're the hottest mom I've ever seen, so relax. He's not going to judge you on looks or what you're wearing."

Her husband helped rebuild her confidence. She loved he found her attractive and sexy. Although, she'd never had a confidence issue in high school. Only after finding out she was pregnant. That changed everything.

Today, she'd see the positive side. Out of bad things, beautiful results appeared.

She wanted her son to feel good about her this go around, because last time, the first time they met, she was a mess.

God, she'd never forget that day. The ache her arms felt not getting to hold him or hear those first few days of cries and snuggling with him skin to skin. There hadn't been an emptier feeling than having carried him for nine months than to be separated from him. Her body was primed and ready to feed him and love him, but her circumstances were not. She would've been completely on her own. Her mother wouldn't have helped her. She would've had to have found care for him during the day so she could take classes, something she couldn't have afforded in addition to paying for care. It just sucked those were the reasons she couldn't keep him.
