Nicholas Claus is learning the family business and he has no patience for the old ways. He has bar graphs and pie charts to prove there are better ways to get around the world in one night and he's determined to prove it this Christmas.
The elves enlist Holly's help to get Nick to see their way. As Nick and Holly go toe to toe, they also find themselves nose to nose --- and lips to lips. It'll be up to Holly to convince Nick that Christmas is more than schedules and deadlines. It's about family, tradition and love.
"Find a way."
Nick closed his eyes. He was sympathetic, absolutely, but there was no more wiggle room on the days' events. "I can't."
Holly touched him. He opened his eyes and stared at her hand, warm against his forearm even through his jacket. "We can."
She squeezed his arm and Nick felt himself caving. She smelled so good. Her eyes were like deep, green pools of hot springs. Inviting and warm, waiting to envelope him and ease his aches and pains. "How?"
"Just like we did with the labels, we'll prioritize the cases based on your new zones. We'll have them complete by the time you're ready to start moving gifts to the loading areas. We can make this work, Nick. Please?"
She moved closer until their bodies were almost touching. She stared up at him, her expression full of hope that he would make the right decision between the schedule and the children. His heart raced as he looked down at her and in that moment, Nick knew she had won.
"One hour. No more," he said finally. Holly's face broke into a huge grin.
"Thank you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She clutched his arm with both hands while she did a small, exuberant little dance in place.
"You're welcome," he said, trying not to notice how her eyes twinkled and her curvy upper body bounced with her happy dance. "I will warn them down in wrapping to expect a few more last minute additions. They'll expedite them to the appropriate zones as soon as they are wrapped and labeled."
Holly nodded. "And I'll let the board know and help them prioritize their cases. I'll even stay and act as a timekeeper to make sure they don't spend too much time on any one case and can't finish on time."
Nick glanced at the file in her hand. "Go ahead and tell them she's on the Nice List, okay?"
Holly lifted the folder and raised her eyebrows in question. "Really? How do you know?"
Nick shrugged. "I just felt it."
Holly launched herself against him and gave him a quick squeeze around his waist. Nick, caught off-guard, had his arm trapped between his hip and her breasts and felt their warm softness crushed against him. He froze, unable to move or think while enveloped in Holly's warmth and sweetness.
"How wonderfully magical," she said with a little squeal and one last squeeze around his waist before she pulled away. "You won't be sorry."
