Product Description

Charis' latest time paradox has left Christina staggering. The history of Meric is being unraveled right before her eyes. While some unimaginable questions are being answered, even more questions start to creep up.

Will they make it out of this place alive? Will they make it back in Meric in time to stop Leticia and save their friends? Will Christina and Shaw ever be married? Will Rayliex, with all his powers, join their side?

Only time holds the answers to these questions. Considering Christina isn't even in her own time, she's not so sure anymore. One thing is for certain; no one could have ever guessed that Meric's origins would have been in this place.

"You!" A growling voice roared behind me. I spun around to see Rayliex, slowly emerging from the closet. I had completely forgotten he was there. "You brought us here!" He looked demented. His eyes were as wide as I had ever seen them. His entire body shook with rage and fear. He lunged at me and wrapped his hands around my shoulders, shaking me violently. "Take me back, witch! Take me back right now," he bellowed.

"Get off her," Shaw yelled. He grabbed Rayliex and whipped him away from me.

Rayliex fell to the ground but he was unfazed by Shaw. He quickly regained his feet and dove for me again.

"No!" Shaw sprang at Rayliex shoulder first, like a professional wrestler might spear an opponent. All three of us fell to the ground in a painful heap.

I untangled myself from the two men, but they continued to grapple on the ground. I think they forgot they were power-wielding Guardians, because they were exchanging punches instead of powers. Rayliex swung wildly at Shaw, but Shaw easily avoided it by ducking under Rayliex's arm. Shaw popped up and caught Rayliex square in the mouth with a fast moving fist and Rayliex stumbled back several steps.

"Shaw! Don't hurt him. He's having a panic attack. He doesn't know what he's doing," I called. Since they were so incessant on fighting hand-to-hand, Shaw clearly had the advantage. His strong, broad, muscular physique outmatched Rayliex's fit, athletic stature. Of course, it certainly helped that one of Shaw's gifts was abnormal strength. He could easily throttle Rayliex with his bare hands.

Poor Rayliex wasn't in his right mind. He was determined to get at me. In his panic stricken state he thought I was the one who brought him here and evidently he planned to stop at nothing to get me to send him back. With blood trickling down his split lip from Shaw's punch, Rayliex charged at me again, but Shaw grabbed Rayliex by the shirt.

Apparently Shaw didn't hear my request not to hurt Rayliex because, in a massive display of strength, Shaw pressed him high over his head and hurled him several yards away. Rayliex landed precariously close to the staircase leading down into the bunker. Rayliex stumbled to his feet, but this time Shaw didn't wait for him to run at us again. Shaw charged, slammed hard into him, then both men toppled down the stairs.

I rushed to railing just in time to watch Shaw and Rayliex get to their feet. They were standing about four yards apart with hate-filled glares on their faces. Their tumble down the stairs reminded them they had powers, because Shaw moved at an unnaturally fast rate, grabbing his sword and running toward Rayliex. Throwing his hand up in the air, Rayliex slowed Shaw down with his powers. Then he grabbed a knife from his shoulder strap and threw it at Shaw. He released Shaw from his powers so he could accelerate the speed of the knife. It zipped through the air at an alarming velocity.

Fast as lighting, Shaw deflected the knife with his sword. Rayliex grabbed another knife then vanished from his spot. He reappeared several feet behind Shaw and released the knife using his powers to speed it up again. Shaw turned and started running at Rayliex. I didn't know if Shaw saw this new knife. It was sure to hit him.

"Stop," I screamed, throwing my hands up in the air. I expected my telekinesis to push them both back away from each other... or at the very least stop them... or stop the knife from slicing Shaw... but what actually happened surprised even me.
