Product Description

Chris Wright, the youngest child of Christopher and Jerilyn, is now thirty-two years old. He's prayed many years for a Godly woman to marry and join him in carrying on the mission of Christmas Hotel. All his siblings are married with children and one with a grandchild. He wonders what's wrong with him. Although his life is full with the management of Christmas Hotel; he's lonely. His only constant companion is his dog Fritz.

He reacquaints with lovely Lori Anna Stanley; someone he has known all her nineteen years.  She sweeps into his life like a breath of fresh air. Is it possible Chris will have the wife and family of his dreams? An idyllic union exists until Chris has reason to question God and his faith. Unforeseen difficulties spiral out of control. Only a miracle can save them. Others have found their miracle at Christmas Hotel, but can they?

Someone descending the steps caused him to turn in the direction. Probably an early morning guest, thought Chris. He was surprised when Lori Anna smiled at him, holding a small suitcase in her hand.

"Good morning, Chris. I see you're an early morning riser, too." Fritz walked to her, tail wagging. "Good morning to you, too, Fritz," she said, scratching him behind the ears. He rolled onto his back for a brisk belly rub.

"Lori Anna, I see you've stolen my dog's heart. He's not normally so quick to warm up to strangers."

Lori Anna stared him square in the eye. "But I'm no longer a stranger. I'm sure Fritz and I will be great friends. I thought I'd take you up on your offer to use the gym before work. If you don't mind, I'll use one of the treadmills for a quick run," she said, while hanging her coat on a wall hook.

"I don't mind at all. We have ten treadmills. Take your pick. I was just going to jump on one myself." He stepped onto the treadmill, programming it at warm-up speed. He placed a hand towel and a bottle of water in the proper slots.

Lori Anna hopped upon the one next to him, placing her towel and water bottle, too.

Chris nearly groaned aloud at her close proximity to him. Her long black hair was pulled into a ponytail, and she wore a blue and white body-hugging jogging suit, and blue and white jogging shoes. She was fresh-faced with no makeup, but none was needed. She flashed those dark brown eyes at him and smiled, displaying those amazing dimples.

They both sped up at the same time, running neck-and-neck for about twenty minutes, before beginning a five minute cool down. Simultaneously, they grabbed their towels, wiped their faces, and guzzled the water.

"I've got some pictures drying in the darkroom, but you're free to use it later if you like."

"Thanks, Chris, but by the time I get my shower and dress, the Franklin Favorite offices will be open. I'll develop the pictures I took yesterday in the darkroom at the paper. Then I've two classes this afternoon at WKU. Thanks for the offer, though."

"You're welcome."

They entered the separate shower and dressing rooms. Chris showered and changed, throwing his dirty clothes in a duffel bag. Entering the darkroom he checked the pictures, and decided to leave them until after his shift ended at 1 p.m.

He turned off the back light and closed the door. Lori Anna walked from her dressing room at the same time. Wearing a navy blue suit, white silk blouse, and navy heels, she stopped in front of him. She had washed and partially dried her long hair, which hung loose down her back. If she had applied makeup, it was very little, but she did have on pink lipstick. He sniffed a touch of heavenly cologne, but very subtle. His mother always said cologne should be a whisper and not a shout. Lori Anna's cologne was an intoxicating whisper. As usual, she was stunning.

He realized he was staring, and she had a slightly amused smile on her face. I think she can read my mind, and that's not good.

She touched his arm, and the electricity shot through him again. The smile never left her face. "Thanks, Chris. I enjoyed our run together. We should do this more often." She bent down, petted Fritz, and he watched her until she disappeared up the steps.

Fritz whined, and Chris bent down and petted him. "Don't get attached, Fritz," but his own heart was racing as he said it.
